Let Bedrock players join your Java server

Updated 16 October 2026 · 3 minute read · Minecraft Java on Paper or Fabric · By Exclsv Support

Turn on one switch in HQ and friends on phones, tablets and Windows can play in your Java world. It installs Geyser and Floodgate for you, so they don’t need a Java account.

Before you start

  • Your server runs Paper or Fabric. Vanilla, Forge and NeoForge can’t run Geyser; switch loader first.
  • Bedrock players can’t see blocks or items added by mods, so plugin servers work best.

Turn it on

  1. In HQ, open your server and go to Mods.
  2. Under Bedrock players, choose Turn on and confirm. HQ takes a backup, installs Geyser and Floodgate (and Fabric API on Fabric) and opens a second port for Bedrock players.
  3. Copy the address and Bedrock port from the Join page and send them to your friends.

Join from a phone, tablet or Windows

  1. In Minecraft, open Play, then the Servers tab.
  2. Choose Add Server. Enter any name, then the address and the Bedrock port exactly as HQ’s Join page shows them.
  3. Save, then select the server to join.

Join from Xbox, PlayStation or Switch

Consoles can’t type a server address, and joining from the friends list isn’t ready in HQ yet, so Xbox, PlayStation and Switch players can’t join for now.

If it doesn’t work

Bedrock players see “Unable to connect to world”

Check they used the Bedrock port shown in HQ, not the Java port. If they did, open Health on your server’s Overview in HQ and choose Check now.

Bedrock players can’t break some blocks

Those blocks probably come from a mod. Bedrock can’t show modded blocks or items. Plugins are fine.
