Restore a backup from Automatic backups

Every hour HQ saves your server and keeps the copies for up to 48 hours. Pick a time to go back to. Your world as it is now is kept too, so a restore can always be undone.
What is kept
- Hourly backups, kept for up to 48 hours. Backups have their own space, the same size as your disk, and none of it counts against your disk. Hourly backups use up to half of it. If it fills, the oldest hourly ones go first and HQ tells you; your own backups are never removed without asking.
- Off-site backups every 6 hours, encrypted and kept in another data centre, with 7 daily copies kept, in case the hardware itself fails.
- Deleted files wait in the Bin for 7 days, and setting changes have an Undo button for 30 days.
Go back to a backup
- In HQ, open your server and choose Backups, then Automatic backups.
- Pick a time in the last 48 hours. HQ lists what going back would undo, such as a mod update or a settings change.
- Choose Go back. HQ stops the server, puts the files back and starts it again. Players are disconnected while it restores.
Changed your mind?
HQ keeps your world exactly as it was before the restore, so you can go forward again from the same page.
Get one file back
If you only deleted a file, open Bin on the Backups tab and choose Put back. Deleted files are kept for 7 days.
If it doesn’t work
The backup I want isn’t there
Backups are kept for up to 48 hours. For anything older, use an off-site backup from Backups; 7 daily copies are kept, or 30 with the Backup bundle.
Fewer than 48 hours are listed
Backups have their own space, the same size as your disk. Hourly backups use up to half of it, and your own backups share it too. A world that changes a lot, or big backups of your own, can fill it sooner, and then the oldest hourly copies go first.
