Run a Soulmask server: settings, admin and fixes

Updated 2 November 2026 · 3 minute read · Soulmask on PC (Steam) · By Exclsv Support

Everything you need to run your Soulmask server in HQ, in one page.

Set it up

In Settings, set the Server name, a Server password if you want one, the Mode (PvE or PvP) and the Map. Restart to apply. The first start takes a few minutes while the world is made.

Join

  1. Choose Join Game.
  2. Search for your server’s name.
  3. Choose it and type the password if it has one.

Become an admin

In the game, open the console and type gm key followed by the Admin password from Settings. HQ made one for your server; you can change it there.

Backups and going back

HQ takes an hourly backup (Automatic backups) and keeps each for up to 48 hours, plus an off-site backup every 6 hours with 7 daily copies. To go back, open Backups, then Automatic backups, pick a time and choose Go back.

If it doesn’t work

It isn’t in the server list

A new server can take a few minutes to appear. Check it shows Online in HQ and search for its exact name.

It stopped: out of memory

Big bases and many players use more memory. Move to a bigger plan.
